I have tried all the above but all this does not seem to work to download quotes from yahoo as the Smartdownloader activation code is now not provided by the hypertraders Manoj

you can join the yahoo group BSE-NSE 2005. They provide every day metasock compatible bhavcoy of NSE & BSE including the F&O data.

Can somebody tell me how to sort NSE Bhovcopy converted into metastock data into midcap, it, nifty & likes into diffrent directory?

Re: covert data from excel spreadsheet to metstcok format Read the downloader help, you can easily conver the data for metastock, downloader simply takes the data & makes the MS files. Remember not to include any quotes any where.
