Do I need to have separate health insurance if I face any health related emergencies during traveling or travel insurance is enough?

You need to have a travel insurance for any medical emergencies abroad. A typical health insurance in India does not cover the across the geographical boundaries. Travel insurance covers many other perils apart from medical emergencies like loss of passport etc. So its always better to have overseas insurance while traveling

Hi Aarti, what “advid1511” said is very correct, for medical emergencies during traveling you need to have travel insurance. It covers you against several unexpected emergencies during traveling and also covers you against loses of belongings. But when it comes to health insurance it covers you within country where you bought it and has geographic limitations, but in case of travel insurance you are insured for covers beyond your county’s geography.

If you are traveling and face any health issues then you need to have travel insurance. It doesn't matter if you are traveling abroad or within the country, your health emergencies are covered with same policy. I would recommend you should go ahead with travel insurance policy; it will be better option for you!

Travel insurance is more than enough since it covers health insurance also while going outside geographical area. I think all should be covered with basic insurance of health, car and life.
