Dear Tushar,

To start with you can use free sotware FChart. Download from - http://www.spacejock.com/files/FChartsInstall.exe

Read from - http://stockcharts.com/education/Overview/index.html

Some senior members will help you further.

Dear Tushar82,

Plenty of books available and each will take you to a further height in understanding market better. U will find many useful threads under Technical Analysis and books sections. I suggest you go through books which are suggested by senior members of this forum (like traderji himself, vvonteru, saint, murthymsr to name a few).

And... study of Technical Analysis will only prepare you in 1 of the 3 most important requirements of a successful trader viz. Mind, Method (Technical Analysis falls here) and Money Management. We have to be equally good at ALL of these 3 failing which, we (I am also included) cannot be a successful trader. So, while concentrating on Method, pay attention to other 2 aspects as well.

If you ask me, hone your Money Management skills first. This will ensure you will trade for longer time even if your decisions go against you. This is especially so because learning TA is a gradual process. You cannot master TA by reading books alone. You will have to apply them in practice and see the results before moving onto the next level. Here, if you do not have your Money Management rules in place, you might get hit by an adverse move (even if your analysis is perfect) resulting in loss of confidence (and capital) which is proportional to amount lost.

For historical data please visit:
http://in.geocities.com/vichooo_1999/mypage.html

First learn about data management from help file of amibroker. then download the historical data and unzip it. Next open amibroker and file open database and select the folder where u extracted the data.
this way you will see the charts of indian companies.
The next obvious step is to start learning TA.
Initial Syllabus willbe:
What is TA
Types of charts
Timeframes of Data
Moving averages
RSI
MACD
Stockhastics
MFI
CCI
Support and Resistance
Divergences between Price and RSI
Divergences between Price and MACD
The above topics shld take you a week to understand assuming u spend few hours daily.
once you are comfortable with above next step is
Developing a trading plan.
There are lots of threads on it in the forum and you can search for it.
The above is a simple road map towards learning TA.
Cheers
