iGuide Stocks free charting software

Hi...Has anyone tried the iGuide Stocks software for charting? Appears to be a good site; the site claims it is free but mentions there that it needs Java jdk 1.5 for smooth installation and working. On Java site though, they say that Jave 1.5 jdk is no longer supported and is end of life as of Oct, last year

Does the iGuide stock software work now or do I need to install the latest version of the java 1.6 or later (which one??)? Pls advise.

You need only a yahoo id for this. Its interface is poor, but Yes, Its FREE!. Installed one month back on a computer running Windows 7 Ultimate,and working perfectly. check their website or the forum for more information on installation..

According to their website:
Make sure JRE 1.5 or above(ie 1.6 also) is available on your machine. To check this, Click Start Menu -> Click Run -> Type cmd -> Press Enter. On the command prompt type "java -version" (without quotes) and press enter. If you get information about java then java is installed on your machine. If not, then install Java Run Time environment from sun's site.
