Images viewing in threads

Suddenly, images posted on threads have been set to Thumbnail mode by default.

Even the option to view them in full has been removed from the Control Panel (or maybe I am unable to find the option location)

Can something be done abt this ... please

Danke.

Agreed. SG, ST and other moderators - please let the admin(s) know about this. The plethora of charts make this site so attractive. The viewer should be not able to view the images in one go, rather than 3-4 steps that the "enlargement" option entails (click on the yellow strip, go to the next window/tab, then click on the picture to enlarge). Moreover, in viewing the charts in such a way, the reader may lose the context of the chart. Also, this procedure makes it impossible to compare the current chart with the previous ones on the page. In Kavima's thread, I always check today's chart with the previous ones. Also, SS's delightful weekend post will be here on Saturday.

I am afraid that this move to save bandwidth/server space by resizing images will be counterproductive - may possibly result in loss of interest and reduced traffic.

Timepass,

I agree with you 100%.
Yes ,the move is COUNTERPRODUCTIVE.
In other forum (name withheld) also ,all charts are resized.
I lost interest , I completely switched to TRADERJI since they do not
resize the charts.
I have already written to SUPER MODERATOR about this.

100% agree, resize should be done for large pics only.
this method don't save any bandwidth for traderji, as these images hosted on other sites. also page load full image in cache but show in small frame upfront. and these are not saved on traderji servers. i think they did either to make thread look lined-up or it came as default feature of vB update.

I don't think that there's been any vBulletin update. Also, it doesn't appear so on other vBulletin forums.

It seems to be some setting in TJ itself. Maybe somebody was tinkering with the setting and unknowingly tripped a switch :)

Testing...

Uploading an image on imgur.com

Uploading the same image on tinypic.com

Same image on imageshack.us

Herr Murtaza,

There is a small pale yellow strip above the posted images.
It has instructions to see full size image. Just click the yellow strip and the image opens in full size in another tab of your browser.

Auf wiedersehen

@ Anant - yes I know - BUT these small sized charts which open in another tab disrupt the flow of the text .. for reference etc we have to switch tabs etc.

I am only asking for an option which can be customised and is available in VBulletin (other forums) whether I want the full size chart or thumbnail .. its not being put upon everybody .. this is ...

No reply from Mods / Admins / TJ since so many days ... is the forum following the footsteps of you-know-who-the-powers-that-be

Anantbhai, try reading this post and ask yourself if it would be so much easier to relate the charts with the text if the images were full sized ones.

Anyway, it still is a mystery as to why this change has taken place.

Hi TP,

For the type of discussion in the post you referred, the smaller sized chart do not make much difference. In fact, I was more comfortable with the smaller charts in that post as these smaller sized charts give the full view without scrolling so that the point being discussed is easy to understand. In that post the discussion refers to a wider time span and some major crucial price levels. Therefore it is easier to understand it with focus on these points with the smaller pattern reduced in size.

But if we need to look at particular annotations or minor details on the chart then full sized charts are better and necessary.

So, if we have an option as Murtaza says, it would be great.
