Hello friends,
I hope I'm not asking too basic a question but something that I wanted to know from fellow traders here.
I day trade only in equities by trying to identify price action setups. I do make little profits out of it but most of the times only after too many trades since most of the stop losses get triggered due to the volatile nature of some of the stocks that I try to trade in.
The index future chart, like the Nifty, on the contrary appears to be less volatile and on some days I feel I could have day traded this instead. I've found the same kind of stability in charts in the Commodity futures as well (by stability I don't mean it's easy to spot the trend or it is easily predictable but the charts are less choppy to enter and exit a trade).
Is day trading in index/commodity futures a better option than trading in equities directly?
Please let me know if my observation is correct. Also please do let me know the pitfalls if any that I may have missed when I compare these two.
Thanks
Deb
