If it is flat like Rs. 9/- per lot. It will be same. If your brokerage is .02% then it will differ
Assume Nifty is trading @ 4900 and option premium is Rs. 100/-
Brokerage for NIFTY would be
5000*50
=250000*.02%
= Rs. 50/-
Brokerage for MINI NIFTY would be
5000*20
=100000*.02%
Rs. 20/-
Since it is option most brokers charge flat rate. Some brokers like bajaj charge based % of premium+Strike price.
Why this confusion now?
Some brokers like Geojit give at 75 for major nifty and 35 for mini nifty for options (it comes to 30 if we take 0.03% ).
Other brokers at say 0.01% rate charge Rs 50 for major nifty and 20 for mini nifty per lot even though that seems to be the rate for 0.02% 0.02*0.01*5000*50 =Rs 50
0.02*0.01*5000*20 = Rs 20
So mini nifty is usually charges at half to two-fifths of the major nifty contract, right?
Well was trying to work out how to ramp up volumes gradually.
