Referencing from other site:
You need three things to import 3rd party intraday data into TS.
1) custom exchange file.
NSE,25
(make it in notepad and save as custexch.txt file....)
2) Attributes file
Date Format,Session 1 Days,Session 1 End Time,Session 1 Start Time,Big Point Value, Symbol, Category, Exchange, Price Scale, Minimum Movement, Daily Limit
yyyy/mm/dd, UMTWRFS, 0955, 1730, 50000, STOCK, NSE,NIFTYFUT, 1/100, 1, 10000
(copy and paste the above lines in notepad and save as attributes.ini)
3) Data file.
I have downloaded Saumya's future data file as requested and made important changes into this file.(sample attached.downloade it and save it in a folder. convert into excel csv file as I could not attach excel file )
4) Put attributes file into same folder containing data file.
5) put custexchange file in CAL folder of Tradestation which is in program files of your computer
in C drive or wherever your window is installed.
Now open TS click on chart analysis window. When window opens right click it . click on format symbol. click on symbol lookup. click add. In type choose ASCII. in prefix type any three words e.g. FNS.
click browse and go to the folder
where your data file and attributes file are. select NIFTYFUT data file.
click ok. your data file will look up in the symbol lookup window. click ok.
you will be back in format symbol window.
select intraday. type interval setting e.g. 1 min. choose start and end date. and other things and click
ok. rest are easy steps complete them and if you did right things your intraday chart will show up like my charts.
Or you can use owndata but I havenot used it for ascii import so far.
