sell a 4900 put if we trade above 4936-50 region.
Well i exited my 3 5000 put and take a losse of 2000 rs well what do you think now market will go what the ta suggest
Sorry about the loss... but i think i told you to sell 4900 put if we trade above 4936-50 level.

Early morning i told you the pivot for the day was 4940.

If market trades above the pivot, only then short 4900 put. This would give u comfort to ride till 4966 and then 5030 without having to do anything....since it would be a debit spread, what ever you would lose in 5000 put would come back in 4900 put short...

But we started below the pivot... and never crossed it... Was there any reason to book losses in the put...?

Hi

When it rains, it Pours

On a day like this, simple trend following works best even on smaller time frames, but there are days when this very same wiggly kills (bleeds you to death with thousand cuts)

If one can differenciate these days then he would have the Holy Grail. But we accept the cuts with a smile and wait for the rainy days like these last 3 days.

BTW, now your targets seem to be very modest, seems you will be done with the 100% within this month itself :thumb:

:)

I am praying for a nice UP move... Not much value left in 5000 call-5100 call, so cant job it much. If market decides to oblige...then at least 50% of the tgt should fall on my lap...

somehow you manage to take just to opposite of what you are supposed to take...

Like today we broke yesterday's low, we never tested today's HIGH. The daily TF chart looks like we are heading south again. There was no panic from the bears the day before. Today they really hammered everything.... The market breadth was negative with advances at 390 against declines of 877 on the NSE. NF fell with huge OI build up...

Only thing supporting your long is that we have a low in place i.e. 4750. If that is broken tomorrow, then market will stop where it wants to fall as there are no well defined levels below that. 4820 has been acting as a support level for the last 4 days, so you can pray that there are some buying takes place tomorrow at that level...

what will be important leavel for tomorrow
I can tell you that in the morning only... Its a level based on the co-relation of all major index of US and asia. Its something similar to how we take cues based on Europe open during the afternoon session.

Hi linkon

Thanks

Can you please tell me how did u calculate 4940 pivot ?
Is it on daily/hourly charts?

gautam
Its the pivot for the whole day. The first 1 min high /low is the SL & entry.

Method of calculation, even i dont know. A trader friend of mine gives me the level 2-5 min before market opens. Its a software that tracks global indices and 50 NSE stocks gives the potential pivot for the first 15 min of the day. He trades very big volumes with this and normally finishes his trade within 30 min of the market open.

Hi Trader4242,
Excellent screen for backtesting and all. Which software is this? Is it Amibroker?
