Dow jones below 11900 nasdaq fell by more than points..With political uncrtainity Monday will also be a tuff day..I hope market does not lower freeze!!!I feel it will not as speculaie position are less ..all paan beediwalas are out of market This can easily be told by market turnover!!!

QFT one of the reasons I visit this forum is to read sudoku's very very amusing rumours.

A sudoku for you... Find out where my money has gone..
I had 7 shares of Reliance power @400. Total price = 2800.
The bonus ratio was 3 shares for every 5 shares.
I got 3 bonus shares on my 7 shares. so total shares I have = 10.
The price was divided by 430*5/8
so my buying price of 400 becomes 400*5/8 = 250 rs i.e. I should break even at 250 rs. right?
but at 250 rs, I will get only 250*10 = 2500 rs.

Loss = 2800-2500 = 300. Where my 300 rs have gone??????????????????????????????????????????????? I hope you got my point.

The difference of 300 Rs. arose due to the non recipt of bonus shares on remaining odd 2 shares;which were not given to u because of fractions.

250*10=2500 but 250*56/5=2800

why 56/5.....?

Since on 5 shares u get 3 bonus
therefore on 1 u get 3/5
therefore on 7 u should get 7*3/5=21/5

7 +21/5=56/5 total shares u should have gotten

Since on 5 shares u get 3 bonus
therefore on 1 u get 3/5
therefore on 7 u should get 7*3/5=21/5

7 +21/5=56/5 total shares u should have gotten

I got only 3 shares. I have not got any refund or anything.

Mahesh, even in your case if I get 56/5 = 11 shares in total, then at 250*11 = 2750. 50rs will still disappear!!

anyway, rel pow holders have already been whipped so badly that nothing worse than that can happen to them.
