By reading others thought on this issue, Another question poped up to my mind is " Is Motilal Oswal is good or Shall I switch to other good demat accout?".

I will use MS-Windowz for trading.

Thanks
Switch to other brokers when you face problems. If its working for you why you want to switch?

Sir
today i short sell 100 Satyam computers shares at 66.80. But i dont know that the stock was freezed and it was fully executed. When i asked to my sharekhan broker they said u cant cover today. We can only know about that on 5th day from today on auction settlement. I have a trading capital of 10000 rs. My question is what wil happen on 5th day and how much i wil loss. Whether i can allow to trade inbetween these days.

Hi all,

I am a complete newbie, and want to trade to learn about the tricks and pitfalls. I am confused about where to open my demat acc. Already had a chat with a guy from sharekhan, but I only have an SBI acc (with net banking), and sharekhan uses only ICICI, axis bank, citi etc. So I am considering Artha money now, having heard of their 1 paisa brokerage thing. Please guide me through this, where to go, how much to trade initially. Thanks a lot!

Dear Vell,

How much you will loose depends on at what price it will be covering in auction. Wait and see, no other options.

Dear indranil.iitb,

I have no experience with Artha money, so not able to comment on them.
Go with a reputed broker and at first I think there is not much to worry about brokerage, you can try opening account with a broker and close it if not comfortable. It will be an easy job like taking a movie ticket.

Hello Everyone

First of all I would like to thank everyone , for initiating this move for helping novice like us on trading.

I just opened a new dmat account with icici bank.

Well , I would be very thankful if some one could help me with resolving my queries.

a. What is the way to work with day to day trading, i.e. where I can buy and sell them on daily basis.

b. I checked with margin option but it seems, it does not let me trade with BSE exchange.

c. Does Metastock Technical analyst software would help me with day to day trading . Would it show details on BSE and NSE exchanges.

Thanks in advance

Regards
amit

amit,

Be specific in your questions for us to answer.

a. What is the way to work with day to day trading, i.e. where I can buy and sell them on daily basis.

You can do it through your broker online or from their office.

b. I checked with margin option but it seems, it does not let me trade with BSE exchange.

Try NSE.

c. Does Metastock Technical analyst software would help me with day to day trading . Would it show details on BSE and NSE exchanges.

Its a tool and so the usability depends on your knowledge and the way you use it. Visit their website for knowing its features. You can chat with a customer care agent for more details.

Hello Hari

Thanks a lot for your response.

I just want a clarification on one question. I will elaborate it .

a. As I have an demat account with icicibank. So is there any way where I can buy the shares and sell them on the same day. Like I tried buying shares using the Buy option ,but I could not see them as it was deposited in my account , when trading was closed.

Regards
Amit

Hi Hari

Thanks for your reply. I have 1 more doubt. What is the difference in trading in BSE, NSE, midcaps, smallcaps and other indices. I mean how does the index we are trading in matter? In terms of capital required, returns, risks etc?

Even if you are not seeing the brought share on you account, you can simply sell them. But for intraday (buy/sell same day) use MarginPLUS Order or select the option "MARGIN" in the BUY/SELL page while buying.

Login to icicidirect website and go to the below link, then study the basics from there and ask here if any doubt. Its difficult to explain everything here amit.
