Have come to know that in past month ur server goes down 3-4 times during market time and customers face losses ......what steps u r taking to avoid this type of scenario's further.
Dear SDL,
This current month we were upgrading the proximity of our servers to the exchanges. This would put us really close to the exchanges and reduce the latency drastically which is a great plus for all traders be it algo or manual. The migration was a bit patchy for first two days but trading continued after some downtime each day as downtime was short lived and fraction of total trading time each day.
So I don't think that server was really down for more than two occasions during market time this month.Of this one time it was exchange side issue in broadcast and you can understand how frustrating it is when reason is beyond one's control.
Anyways, realistically server downtime is something we have to live with due to so many variables of hardware, software, internet and exchange issue.
Therefore, we can only do what is within our control that is build as many backups as possible for each variable and we continue to do that. For eg. moving servers even closer in one of the best data centers in the country with even higher bandwidth and multiple providers is the recent instance.
Even today we were adding more fat pipes with exchange which would be increasing order handling and also provide another layer of active active backup due to round robin nature of sending orders across these fat pipes.
Even if server is down the clients have access to our branches and central desks to take support and manage positions.
If algo server is down the Clients can login from mobile or IBT terminals and manage trades.
So honestly, we try and deliver the very best as the game we are in is so much quality and service driven that we simply cannot rest.
I cannot comment on the losses of any client.
Trust u could hear my heart put
