Amibroker For Dummies........a Beginner's Forum On How To Use Amibroker

I am a novice and have few queries. Will be grateful if one could provide me answers -

1. Currently, I am using www.icharts.in for charting purpose.
2. What are the advantages of Amibroker over "icharts". What else extra can be done using Amibroker. Please specify giving few examples.
3. From where, I may purchase Amibroker?
4. Who is the best real time data provider for Amibroker. As I am a novice, I need the one with whom I may feel comfort, ie, automatic backfilling etc.

Amibroker I find far more versatile and easy to handle. And most easy is its editing with the AFL (Formula thru which the charting are formed by Amibroker).

I use RT Data in NSE , NSE FnO and MCX from market-data-provider , google to find their site.

As far as Amibroker is concerned, the trial version is sufficient till U do not require advanced features. I use Trial Version, it is sufficient as long ur data provider writes RT data to your hard disk...

U can take diff data vendors trial to choose, I suggest Dnt use Yahoo data if u trade Futures..

Then how one can do EOD analysis. Also, which are those advanced features which we can't use with trial version of Amibroker. How is the data quality with market-data-provider ?

No it continue to work, but, The Amibroker Trial Version Allows to explore 5symbols at at time.

As, I do only Intraday in NIFTY only so my purpose is served.

The Data of market-data-provider is at par with those costly and expensive data vendors , at much reasonable price/ subscription.

Yes Sir backfill comes automatically, if u have missed any day,
U can synchronize all IEoD & EoD data,
+ Current Day Tick By Tick without any miss, in no time.

Hi ,

I was trying to import previous months 1 min Intraday data of format

NIFTY_F1,20100104,09:00,5225.00,5229.00,5219.95,5223.15,205650
NIFTY_F1,20100104,09:01,5224.00,5232.00,5224.00,5227.15,159100

After which I am unable to see the normal price chart in candlestick format.Everychart is displayed like all bars.I don't what I have messed up.

Can anybody tell me what to do to get back the basic charts with black/White Candle with those up/down etc ...Currently only bars are displayed...I normally use Sharekhan's charts ..am trying with AB..Please help..

This is default settings I have done ...(view->Price Style->Candleaticks)
