Brokerage plans and the way brokerages function hardly changes. Also if you want a first hand view of the brokerage just spend a day at the brokerage and speak to the people trading there. You will get all the information you need. Service depends on branch to branch. RM's even more so.

So far Angel is the first to start min contract charges.

I m with ventura. Got membership on 29th June 2010. I have very good experience. Excellent online platform, POINTER.
Really speaking now I m comfortable with Ventura at least compared to Indiabulls. I never made money with Indiabulls coz its brokerage sucks most of the profit.
Any problem, immediate attention has been given after sending a mail to Ventura.
I appreciate their response.
By the way I am not acting as an agent rather I really like to be with ventura.

Really appreciate them for software speed.
transaction speed and feedback
But software has some problem with stop loss.
it doesn't work at all.
if some one can demonstrate i will be thankful

If someone wish to open then He should negotiate well.
they come down to very low level
e.g. i has earlier a/c with option brokerage of 50.
but with new one they have offered me Rs 25..
So you should Negotiate..
Another problem fund Pay in Pay out
they charge for every transaction
Another is Ledger
Don't show full data for derivatives
You have to go and check every day slips..
Rest is well

If you are looking for low brokerage with average service...ventura is a good option.

I negotaited for 1800 prepaid plan for 6 months
i.e. 1800 will be refunded according to brokerage generated for 6 months

they charged me
Delivery brokerage - 0.25%
Intraday - 0.035%

With above plan FnO is little costly arrounf -0.09%
but if u only invest in shares then u dnt need to worry.

Software Pointer is good and rarely it will be out of service (None in 1.5 years I used)

Biggest disadvantage is they dnt have web-based trading which means if you are working behind proxy/firewall it is problem for u to use their application pointer.

Also cant find option for applying IPO online.

i am with ventura since may 2009, no problem yet. before i was with angel.
as i feel pointer is better then odin.
i paid 5000 deposit( get back once make brokerage of 5000)
brokerage .025%
options 35/- per lot ( sell side only)

Ventura Pointer software works quite well but there are problems.
1) You will be disconnected from the server just few seconds or minutes before market opening.So you have to log in again which takes several minutes and you loose opportuniity in case the market opens green after 5 long red days.
I have complained to ventura but they say there is no problem at their end.
Every Broker will say that, so I will have no othger option but to look for some other broker.

Yes. The major problem of pointer is frequent disconnection with server. If we trade in derivates, a minute delay might lead to loss from profit. To invoke pointer, we need admin rights. This is another issue.
