Backtesting and trading camarilla pivots

okay.. lets see what other experts have to say.. thaks a ton for your help.. please do keep putting in your views.. but what exactly is meant by mkt sense and breadth ?

1. Does every stock respond to Camarilla levels ? Someone once told me that only low beta stocks respond well and another person said only highly liquid stocks do. Since there has been quite some amount of research and backtesting already done, users please help me with this.

2. Can we use Camarilla levels for EOD also ? For example if I use the OHLC valus of the last week, then I can get the Camarilla levels for this week. I think that could get us bigger profits. However, its just an idea, seniors will know well whether it can be done at all or not.

3. Anyone can give me the correct anjd precise formula for these levels. As i discovered there are two versions of it. I really dont understand which to use when. And there is also some controversy regarding the interpretation. Ant authentic website or post regarding te formula and the interpretation would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.
1 . All liquid stocks works well with Camarilla .Although i didnt trade much on individual stocks , i saw aban worked well this week .
2 .YES . But you have to cope up with the intraday noices :)

3 .As i know we have only one version which have 4 higher and 4 lower levels. The B version they say have 5 levels and some one already posted the formula for it . H5 = (high/low)*Close , L5 = Close-(H5-close)

I don't know if there is a L6 but there seems to be L5.
Although it may not seem necessary to have L5 now sometimes due to range compression breakout the next day nifty might trade out side L4/H4 which then is a problem since we don't have a reference anymore.
For Break out ( Gap up /Gap down) days ,use Opening range break out theory .It works well for them . take the first 5 min high and low . Add a filter ( I use 5 points ) . If Nifty crosses Dayhigh + filter buy with SL as Day low . If Breaks day low , SL will be the range High .

Considering the break yesterday , the first trade was a whipsaw and SL hit for it ( entry 4880 , SL 4865 ). The Short trade is much profitable .( Entry 4865 , SL 4880 )

Nifty Futures Profit for 11th September 2009.

Nifty futures opened at 4851.00

This between H3-H4.

So we sell below H3 and buy above H4.

Sell below H3 triggered after 10 - 15 min.

Our targets are H2, H1,......

Targets till H1 are achieved and our trailing stoploss get hit at H2 since futures reversed from 4822.

So our profit = 4842 - 4822 = 20 points.

Now again at 11:30 the price was in range H3 - H4.

So we sell below H3 and buy above H4.

Sell below H3 triggered.

This time our targets till L2 were ahcieved. (since price reversed from 4795.55)

so profit = 4842 - 4803 = 39 points.

So total profit = 20 + 39 = 59 points.

Profit of 2500+ with one lot of Nifty

Attached is the calculator for camarilla

Dear friends,

I have been learning a lot from this thread for quite some time. However, I have a few queries. I would request experinced traders and seniors to kindly advise me.

Nifty Futures profit for 22nd September 2009.

Nifty Futures opened at 4975.

This is between L1 and H1.

We wait for the price to come in range.

At 10:24 am, Nifty Futures crossed H4(5004).

So we buy at 5004.

0.5% Target = 5029.02 (achieved)
1% Target = 5054.04 (not achieved).

So profit for today = 0.5% = 25 points.

Profit of 1000+ with one lot of Nifty.

Nifty Futures Profit for 23rd september 2009.

nifty Futures opened at 5019.70.

This is between L2 and L1.

So we wait for the price to come in range.

At 10:45, the price of Nifty Futures came in range.

We buy at L3 and short at L4.

buy at L3 triggered.

Out targets are L2, L1, .....

Nifty Futures made high till 4522 and reversed. During reverse journey our trailing stoploss at L2(5017) got hit.

So profit = 5017 - 5010. = 7 points.

Now L4 is the short.

Sell triggered at L4(4989)

0.5% Target = 4964.055 (achieved).
1% Target = 4939.11 (not achieved)

During reverse our trailing stoploss at 0.5% gets hit.

Profit = 0.5% = 25 points.

Total profit = 7 + 25 = 32 points.

Profit of 1500+ with one lot of Nifty.
