There are of course a large number of options.

I shall mention one of each type.

1. If you are looking to go to a website and get these details then go to http://www.moneycontrol.com/

Somewhere in the middle you can see the 52 week high/low, Most active, Volume shocker, Top Gainers, Top Losers etc

At the bottom you will find a entry called
STOCKS A | B | C | D | E | F | G | H | I | J | K | L | M | N | O | P | Q | R | S | T | U | V | W | X | Y | Z | Others

Suppose you want to find the full details about Reliance, Then click on "R"
Then you will get a page with all the Listed companies having name starting with R, choose Reliance here.
This will open up Reliances page, here you can get Historical Charts for Reliance, Technical chart for Reliance and Financial Information for reliance, balance sheet for reliance for its full lifetime, Any latest news about the company, Also there is a chat forum where people talk about latest rumour or breaking news about the company.

You can also get the intra day chart in the homepage http://www.moneycontrol.com/. In the top there is a panel called as "CNBC-TV18 Matrix". It will have a list of stocks that you have browsed in moneycontrol. You can click on the stock and the intraday chart will be visible.



2. If you are looking to buy a s/w which will show all these chart details in your computer and suggests good stocks then I can suggest Profision. I use it and its recommendation are fairly correct. It also has all the usual facilities in a charting s/w like all popular indicators, oscillators. You can get more details here http://www.invest-in-shares-in-9minute.com/shares-prices.html

3. If you are looking for a free s/w then I can suggest FCHARTS. You can download it from here http://www.spacejock.com/SEDownload.html
This will have all the charting facility, but no data. Everyday the daily data of NSE and BSE needs to uploaded into FCharts.

To do this you need to get the downloader s/w. You can get it for free from here http://www.getbhavcopy.com/.
For this downloader s/w to work you require Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5. It can also be downloaded from the same page i.e. http://www.getbhavcopy.com/. But it is a big file 197 mb.

After this you can use Getbahvcopy to download the data. Then upload it to FCharts and then view it. So little bit effort is needed. But you are getting it for free after all.

Hi

I am completely new to the trading world. I am going through various books on TA. However, I wanted to get a hands on experience by looking at the price movements. Now the problem is, how do I select the right stock? Even for real time trading, how does a trader pick the stock to trade? I am currently following News channels like CNBC Awaaz / ET Now to get the stock to be traded. But I am sure that there is another way out. Please help me with it. Also, if there are any previous posts on it, do point me to it.

Hi Blitz,

I am also new here and have a ton of questions :) The top most one is - Where to get a good understanding of F&O trading (especially 'options'). I have done a couple of options tradings earlier but was advised not to do so unless I gain decent knowledge.

I have gone through ICICIDirect's guide on the same which I found to be really good but strongly feel that I need something more or better. Maybe I am a bit dumb as far as finance is concerned :)

Hi i want to know accounting treatmnet along with proper entries which would be appropriate for tax purpose (turnover computation ) for intraday share transaction in cash market. I know there huge material here but for fno not for cash market intraday trading. I will be grateful if some body urgently help me?

> For an in-depth view of Technical Analysis: "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" by Edwards & Magee (Rs. 795)
> For approaches in volatile markets: "Martin Pring on Market Momentum" (Rs. 395)
> For detailed topics in F&O: "Futures & Options" by Vohra and Bagri (Rs. 425)

The above books give you an in-depth coverage in their respective streams. However, if you want a book that can be termed as an 'essential gear before jumping in to Indian markets', I suggest "How to make money trading with Charts" by Ashwani Gujral & P Khemariya (Rs. 595)

Apart from these, as a leisure reading (plus learning add on), you can try Jack D Schwager's "Market Wizards" / "New Market Wizards". (Rs. 395).

Hi,
I'm also new to trading world and more interested in day-trading, though i'm clear with stock market jargons, how things work here. But I have not done my home work on fundamental analysis and technical analysis, only then i think i'll be able to get into the market. But i need to clear my doubts about what is money management, risk control and all these stuff. i'm reading everthing about trading i come across with and as of now monitoring 5 companies and have there stocks too like reliance, guj nre etc. i still think that i need some knowledge. i thought about taking classes frm NSE-Sikkim Manipal Univ. What do you think.
