Hi,

Which Automated Trading System (ATS) provider do you think is best for retail traders? The most important factors could be 1) Easy integration with Amibroker/MT4, 2) Reliability of Trade execution, 3) Slippage in trade execution, 4) Choice of Broker and 5) Monthly cost.

Most options available are costly. There are many small unauthorized providers also.

EDIT: GDFL, SahajMoney and Valnet are taking API from MasterTrust so removed from poll.

MasterTrust offers at lowest price of Rs. 295 p.m. product info, user guide

For members who want simulation/paper trade I will advise it is always better to test strategy with 1 share. this is because many ATS give trouble in order execution. What is the use if signal comes on chart but trade executed with 1% slippage or not executed at all.
Do you have any feedback on this - http://www.algowize.com/Algorithm_Trading_FAQ.htm

Hi yasu222, I had a telephonic conversation with them, they provide algo trading but you should have the strategy. One thing is good that they are saying that if you have a strategy (AFL) in amibroker they can convert it and run it in there server so that the data fetching process and signal generation in charts can be minimised.(They will not charge any thing for this conversion.) They will provide the real time data . But to use there software you have to shell out Rs.8000 to 10000/- pm. You have to open A/c with kumar stock broker based in New Delhi.

Valvenet is not working while the robo shows profit, your terminal will be in actual loss. Back test shows good profit, but it dose not happen in real trades. Also execution is big problem. When you complain they say you should have closed the trades manually when it shows profit, than what is the purpose of Auto trade?

Auto Trading is Retail client is not easy yet in India. Due to lots of Technical and Exchange formality issues.
Most of the ATS provider in India is providing basic and simple ATS platform as well AFL Strategy, which is not profitable at all.
We have tie up with Master Trust and we use our own designed program for ATS or Auto Trade. We done lots of internal modifications to get best result.

Hi guys,

I guess there is a lot of mis information and also a lot of clarification and I thought I must get active and contribute here.

I think the basic query is about cost.

To be honest, I think cost is a very big concern for traders especially on the retail side. So one has to look at the costing of any product right from a Algo software costing even 2.5 lakhs per month to as low as free of cost.

It is all about utility.

For instance , someone mentioned about sahajmoney... It looks expensive out rightly but if you see the functionality you would consider it not to be expensive if you truly want real automation.

The very cheap ones are usually illegal and not exchange approved. Even the order execution method is based in some slip shoddy macro written which opens buy/ sell window and then punches orders... Just imagine the kind if slippages u can see in such a system.

I am not advocating sahajmoney per se.. But since someone mentioned.. I thought let me clarify the basic difference.

I am one of the guys in master capital who looks at the Algo atmosphere and if you need any help or advise then please do post here.

I promise to give you the most honest advise.

Rgds

Hello puneet
i sell covered calls and ratio spreads in currency can u tell me what will be the cost per month if i have to buy in the money options and sell out of the money through ATS

I was considering symphony though composite edge as its 25000 per year which is 2000 a month

But transaction charges at these discount brokers are day light robbery though brokerage is peanuts

Hi Ajay, it would depend in the frequency of trading and style. If you are very high frequency trader and you really need ultra low latency then perhaps symphony will not server your purpose as you would need co location in NSE which can turn out to be an expensive proposition. So if you could clear the frequency then I could answer. Secondly, if you could advise how would you, for eg, trigger a ratio spread then I would advise you.. Rgds

I do not require very high frequency set for Eg When Usd Trades at 62 I would
buy 100 Lot of 61 call sell 75 lots 62.5 call and sell 50 lots 63 call

and pray to god it expires between 61.8 to 62.5

The problem is when i buy 61 call at my price by the time i am able to sell

62.5 or 63 call the price of Usd is up or down 2-3 paise
(That whats my dealer at broker says )

Some time i gain 3000 some time i loose 3000 i do 3-4 trade like this a month

Also its a head pain So i was seraching the web for ATS

Now if its 3000 4000 Per month i want it if Its 15000 25000 or 50000:clap:
Then i am small time trading USd as hobby i dont want ATS

One more fear i have is ATS buy 61 CE but not sell other strike then i dont know what to do Atleast Dealer sells it at some price :thumb:

Honestly speaking, for 4 trades a month you really do not need an Algo system. However , what your dealer would need is an execution algorithm. What I mean to say that the dealer should have some mechanism to fire these orders together and perhaps as IOC trades. Let me come back to you in a bit and check it at my dealing desk whether there is something like that or not. If there is then you would save costs also and get better execution also.
