NR7 Excel file

Go through the attached EXCEL file, which has backtest of Nifty Future data since Nov 2007. Study the effect.
If you don't find it satisfying, leave it there & then.

You will have to manually update the file from tomorrow...

shailu, i dont understand why you need email addresses ? why dont you read the prev posts , think, understand and raise questions here itself.

how can u say some system is useless based on one day data ? may be you are not using the system properly.

if you are trying with cash stocks, do only top 5 stocks voume-wise like RIL, SBI, ICICI, HDFC, INFOSYS etc. nifty is your best bet. do it on nifty futures first and then expand to some few selected stocks like RIL, SBI, ICICI..

bandlab i am using amibroker software in that how can we see that i just wana ask that and i didnt ask email address . i asked yahoomessenger id. if i wana clear doubts than in that u have any problem than say.

2 things:

1. Even though you choose to trade a stock in Cash Market, compute the NR calculation with its FUTURES figures. I have explained the reason in AW10's thread.

2. Not all stocks give consistent results. Recently, when I tried to apply this concept (successful in Nifty) to stocks, I got only 4-5 stocks giving consistent results out of the initial basket of 20 stocks.
A common theme I found was that the range contraction should be evident not only in such EOD calculations but also in their intraday charts.

Shailu, Surprised to see that u are making BOLD statement like NR7 is useless when there are many people who will stand by this.
That's too without understanding what this is / what is underlying reason behind it / What it signifies and on what timeframe will it work.

Please google on NR7 Setup and you will be able to find pdf / articles that explains it in better then what I or Sunil has explained.
This is no brainer setup. Doesn't need any complex calculation.
1) Just calculate the range of each day by taking the difference of high price and low price. This shd be simple
2) Take today + last 6 days which gives us 7 days.
3) If today's range is smallest of all , then today was NR7 day.
if not, then it was not.

I have given examples in other thread.

If you really want to understand it then can u plz post your calcuation of day range of last 10 days on the scrips (like dlf, bhel, infy etc) where u found that it doesn't work.

Moreover, no system in trading world gives 100% winning trades. If you are looking at system, then we need to look its performance over a period
of time. not on each trade.

I never ask or said that i want 100% trading system. But if i have any doubts than is it wrong? Now it is clear that here only few people can say . If u have any doubts than u cant say. So now i will not respond for this topic anymore. And very sorry who get hurt.
