Can I Short Sell a "PUT" Option ?

Yes you can. All options can be shorted and covered.

there are two interpretations of this question,

the first one is from option writers perspective(writing a naked/covered put/call) and it was answered in this thread.

However i have a query from intraday traders perspective, just wanted to know if i can short sell a put intraday (same effect can be achieved buying a call) and square off by close of market. this not to be confused with writing naked put.

Yes. You can short sell intraday too.
Note:-short selling naked option is not safe for intraday too.
Try credit spread or debit spread which are safe with min risk
