Coal India raised US$3.4bn in an IPO and its shares gained about 40% in their trading debut on Nov. 4, making it the fourth-largest Indian stock by market value.
Coal India will be added to the large cap segment of the MSCI Global Standard Indices effective from the close of Nov. 19, the index compiler said on Monday.

Speculation is that FTSE, which manages indices like FTSE 100, is likely to include Coal India in two of its global indices effective Friday. It may form part of the FTSE All-World Index and FTSE All-Emerging Index.
The shares of Coal India Ltd closed at Rs. 330.45 down Rs. 19.20 or 5.49% over the previous close.
The stock touched an intra day high of Rs. 355.70 and an intra day low of Rs. 330 after opening at Rs. 351.

INDIA IS A WORLD POWER, SAYS OBAMA.
Obama must be kidding. India is far from being a world power. It cannot even
recover areas of Kashmir which are an integral part of this country and occupied
by Pakistan from that country. It cannot fight China and recover the Indian
territory from the clutches of China. It cannot ask China to free Tibet. It
cannot feed millions of its starving people. It cannot provide safe drinking
water, sanitation, healthcare and nutrition to its people living below the
poverty line. It cannot check corruption, tax evasion and smuggling. It cannot
even act against Pakistani agents like Arundhati Roy, Geelani, Stone Pelters,
etc. What sort of a world power is it?
