MARKET WRAP : 03/02/2011


Indian market ends up with marginal gains, nifty up 14 pts & Sensex up 68 pts.
Hero Honda Q3 net profit down at Rs. 429 Cr, net sales up 34% at Rs. 5118 Cr.
Euro markets were up with FTSE leading; up 51 pts, Dow future was up 10 pts.

Indian equity market ended up marginally with Nifty up 14 pts at 5432 while Sensex added 68 pts to end at 18090.6. Markets shredded early gains in last hours as Nifty lost 60 pts and Sensex shredded more than 200 pts. European markets were in green
with FTSE up 51 pts, CAC up 1 pts & DAX up 6 pts. Dow future was up 10 pts as well.

MARKET WRAP : 04/02/2011



Indian market ended 1.8% up on short covering, Nifty above 5500, up 95 pts.
Food price inflation came up at 17.05% & fuel price inflation jumped to 11.61%.
European markets were down with CAC down 1.20%, Dow future was flat.

Indian equity market ended 1.80% up on short covering taking Nifty above 5500. Nifty added 95 pts to end above psychological level of 5500 at 5527 while Sensex gained 359 pts to settle at 18450. Euro markets were down with FTSE down 29 pts, DAX down 12 pts and CAC worst, down 49 pts. Dow future was flat ahead of jobless claims data.

MARKET WRAP : 07/02/2011


Nifty slips below 5400 & Sensex dips below 18K, Indian market down 2.40%.
Nifty lost 131 pts to end at 5396 & Sensex sliced down 441 pts to end at 18008.
Euro markets were up with CAC leading, up 14 pts; Dow future was up 6 pts.


Indian equity market ended down 2.40% as Nifty hits a fresh six month low of 5369. Nifty lost 131 pts and Sensex shredded 441 pts. European markets were up with FTSE & DAX up 20 pts as GBP Halifax HPI m/m came up at 0.8% & EUR Italian prelim CPI m/m up at 0.4%. Dow future was up 6 pts ahead of Non-farm employment change data.

Indian market ended flat, nifty up 0.25 pts at 5396 & sensex up 29 pts at 18037.
Sentix investor confidence up at 16.7 & German factory orders down at (-)3.4%.
Euro markets were up 0.5 - 0.9% with CAC leading, Dow future was up 20 pts.

Indian equity markets were lackluster and ended flat on positive bias with Sensex holding the 18k level. Nifty ended 0.25 pts up at 5396 while Sensex added 29 pts to settle at 18037. European markets were up on better Sentix investor confidence, up at 16.7 with FTSE up 45 pts, CAC up 35 pts & DAX up 57 pts. Dow future was up 20 pts.

Indian market ended down 1.60%; Nifty down 84 pts & Sensex down 261 pts.
EUR French trade balance at (-)5.1b & German industrial prod. m/m at (-)1.5%.
Euro markets were mixed with DAX up 0.10%, Dow future was down 10 pts.

Indian equity markets slaughtered down 1.6% as Nifty lost 84 pts but managed to end above 5300 level at 5312 while Sensex sliced down 261 pts to settle at 17776. Euro markets were mixed with DAX up 5 pts at 7287, CAC was down 7 pts at 4084 & FTSE was down 16 pts at 6035 due to negative German data. Dow future was down 10 pts.

Indian market ended down 1.10%; Nifty down 59 pts & Sensex down 183 pts.
German trade balance came up at 14b & GBP trade balance down at (-) 9.2b
Euro markets were down with FTSE & CAC in red, Dow future was up 4 pts.

Indian equity market ended down 1.10% as Nifty broke the crucial 5300 level losing 59 pts to end at 5254 while Sensex sliced down 183 pts to settle at 17593. Bank nifty added 70 pts to end at 10180. Euro markets were in red due to Chinas recent rate hike; FTSE was down 12 pts, CAC down 3 pts & DAX was up 5 pts. Dow future was up 5 pts.

Indian equity market ended down for third consecutive day as Nifty lost 28 pts to end at 5226 while Sensex sliced 130 pts to settle at 17464. Bank nifty future was down 36 pts to end at 10095. European markets were down 0.3%- 0.9% with CAC worst; down 36 pts while DAX was down 30 pts & FTSE was down 51 pts. Dow future was down 40 pts.

Indian market ends up 1.6%; Nifty above 5300, up 84 pts & Sensex up 265 pts.
Dec IIP at 1.6% vs. 2.7%; capital goods came in red at (-) 13.7% vs. 42.9% y/y.
Euro markets were down 0.2-1% with CAC worst, Dow future was down 10 pts.

Indian market ended up 1.60% on short covering & value buying at lower levels by DIIs though FIIs acted as net sellers. Nifty added 84 pts to settle at 5310 while Sensex gained 256 pts to settle at 17728. Bank nifty future gained 362 pts to end at 10462. European markets were down 0.2 1% with CAC worst. Dow future was down 10 pts.

WPI declined marginally to 8.23% in January from 8.43% in previous month.
Euro markets were mixed with DAX up 22 pts, Dow future was down 15 pts.

Indian equity market ended up 2.80% on short covering and positive global cues as Nifty gained 146 pts to end at 5456 & Sensex gained 474 pts to settle above 18k at 18202. Bank nifty future was up 328 pts to end at 10791. Euro markets were mixed with DAX up 22 pts at 7392 while FTSE & CAC were down. Dow future was down 15 pts.

German Zew economic sentiment came down at 15.7, prelim GDP q/q at 0.4%.
European markets were in green with CAC leading, Dow future was up 10 pts.

Indian equity market ended up for third consecutive day as Nifty gained 25 pts to end at 5481 and Sensex gained 72 pts to settle at 18273. Bank nifty future was up 141 pts at 10933. Euro markets were in green due to stable European GDP data with CAC up 19 pts at 4112, DAX up 16 pts at 7412 & FTSE up 4 pts at 6064. Dow future was up 10 pts.
