Aapke kehne se muze lagata he bhagawan ko khud avatar lena padega swacch bharat mission ke liye.
Tonnes of waste come from temples also.
Its the job of temple management to take care of that.
Neither Gods nor temple visitors.

First, Temple management should palce dust/waste bins at some places and arrange people to manage that waste properly. Then they can arrange for small hoardings and announcements asking the visitors not to throw the waste and to follow the rules and keep the temple clean.

But why the temple priest going around and cleaning the waste banana leaves and coconut pieces....one day he will do and inspired by him few people will do..what about next day and day after that..

My personal experience....Individuals has to change, nobody can do anything..

Just opposite to my house, there is a vacant ground, all honest citizens are conveniently throw the waste in that ground (though everyday morning vehicle is coming to pickup the wasteges). I made a complaint to Corporation, they cleaned 2 or 3 times, again this honest citizens are doing the same. (Best part is people use to carry the waste in their car and throw). Honestly, Govt is putting efforts, unless and otherwise, we, individuals has to change. We talk, we have six sense, i feel, we does't have even sense at all..

Let us hope, society may change soon.

Exactly... then the message that Not to throw waste on your neighbours or on streets should be taken to public. What is this individual carrying a broom and cleaning the street. Thats the job of municipal sweepers and they are paid for that.

And they have to procure lakhs of dustbins and place them and develop a new system. On a large scale: Waste management systems, equipment, man power have to be put in place and then they should go to public announcing a mission.

For simply a group of people going on roads with brooms and cleaning fallen leaves we dont need a govt initiative even if it is a start up.
Dear friend, no municipality can keep the place clean if people keep making it dirty, we do our part by throwing garbage in dustbins they will do their part in taking the dustbins and cleaning 1 or 2 times a day.
What he is trying to do is to make people aware of their responsibility, also that if the PM of the country can take a broom why cant we do our part.. you dont need to pick a broom but the least we can do is not litter public places.
Also i am sure this initiative has also changed the perspective of few people towards sweepers, also realize the sense of respect they would be feeling seeing what important service they are doing.
And the children, they are the best investment we as a nation can make and he has been inspiring them through many campaigns like this, you will see changes but you have to be patient and keep doing your part.

my friend, am not any anti modi type. :)

But the reality is, large scale changes wont happen that way.

Making people aware is no bad idea but how can that be a mission of a govt.

Every awareness program will bring small change for small period of time. But that change wont sustain. If awareness programs can bring drastic changes Shri Shri Ravi Shankar would have transformed this country.

Strong implementation of new projects is required and those projects should not be mere awarness programmes.
