Any special reason for tracking OI specific on Index futures? It makes sense on commodities futures but I haven't heard or read about any specific reason to do it on Index futures. Really wondering what it could be.
Well.... I trade only futures index for now and off late have been trying to understand how to trade Options by trial and error :D. I am making a daily tracker for myself to keep track of how OI affects the movements. I am aware that keeping a check on OI on Options gives us crude idea of how the price can move ahead. Not sure if the same applies for Futures... its just my Trial & Error method to see what works and what doesn't ;)

One more way to know the OI,
You can add the column of OI, in your trading terminal itself, to know the live OI
