Hi all : Does anyone here trade solely on Gann and/or Gilmore's method. I have been reading some of their books which are interesting but find it quite primitive in today's market. Any thoughts/comments ??
As per my observation, one person on the forum, who has been quite consistent with Gann is DPKaur :thumb:

Sorry, not can help you with this in dept. I have some knowledge, but I never traded purely on Gann or Gilmore. Let's see what Pakatil is posting about this, as he has a lot of comments to make about what ever some post here.

Manish, which study of Gann you are talking of. There are various kinds of Gann studies like, Gann Angle, Gann Square of Nine, Gann Wheel etc etc.

Though I have heard that Gann Square of Nine gives good result, but never followed it on a regular basis. Yes, Gann Angle gives very good results, provided you know about it. I tried to learn it, but didnt get any help on it (about my queries on its set up etc), then gave it up. But it is my wish, to learn it one day.

BTW DPKaur is an expert in Gann Angle.

Many of us still use XP mainly bcz Our systems are quite old. Upgrading hardware for the sake new OS is simply not worth. Reluctant to discard those old warriors bcz they are still doing very well.

Cheers......:D

Thanks ! :) @a1b1 : I'm reading a book called 45 years in Wall Street by Gann. Doesn't directly talk about mechanical way to taking a trade but there are some interesting rules he talks about on how the market moves. I will post some when I finish reading it. Yeah.. DPKaur's thread is impressive. I'm going through that right now..

Gann never mentioned or documented anything about 45 degrees from where / which level.....that is the critical point of the entire subject....

I know the subject, but, little complicated to teach through mechanical way..

Anyway i will try to post some charts to start with...

The only pure rule I guess I use from Gann: If the trend shows a degree of 45% then it is a very healthy trend. That's it. All the rest on any other angel or degree is valued through common sense.
