In trends it pays to have some swing trading positions ( small may be ) along with daytrading. Many times markets will open with a gap in direction of the trend and then move small during the day...and gap again...swing positions capitalise on such gaps.The same holds good in downtrends too.

Yesterday's market gave 2-3 opportunities to catch the trend for Nifty Futures daytraders too.... for stocks daytraders like Maruti it was a dream day.
