Day Trading Futures

stopped trading futures?
I won't say stopped, just that found a better opportunity in options. Maybe I'll go again in futures when the backache from the January beatings (in futures) goes away :D

See, trading BNF, the cost is about 4-4.25rs. For options it is about 1-1.2Rs. If it is a wrong trade, it is easier to make a 20 pts loss in futures than in options :). So playing it safe for the time being.

Feb, I'll concentrate more on having "no loss" days than on amount of profit.

Yesterday you posted a requested chart from me with a five minute time frame. Not an easy chart, as the moves have been the whole day little. Short before closing, the market went up strongly. One solution: One momentum indicator in context with the candles and the short term trends can show quit precisely entry and exits when tested in dept. As I still look at it from the price action side, I do not recommend to use more of such indicators, as the confusion will start very quickly when mixed up with other indicators. As less as better for traders who do not trade on systems. For system traders there are other rules to look at.

Hi Somatung

Momentum indicator of period 10 or any other

You want 3 min time chart with volumes only or any other indicator is also required.
I can post chart of NF, if a similar chart is OK

Thanks for your offered help. :thumb:

About the momentum indicators: There is a bunch of different momentum indicators you can test on each time frame in your market. It will take some time to do so and I really would recommend to do so. Some threads in the forum spot on such momentum indicators like the one from Sir ST. Still, you must test it with all the different possibilities your charting or platform offers on each different time frame, as what works on a three minute time frame not necessarily works on an hourly time frame. So be aware about that and test it wisely. As told: One of such indicators used is enough.

About the charts: Some here use charts which are full with what ever and trade on them very precisely. On some of those chart I would lose my self at any time, as it would be too much noise for my way of looking at a chart. But that is me and me is individual and so no general rule about that. No way for such rules, as we are all different by what we analyzes and see on any chart.

As you have seen: I love simple charts and the three charts I took my time to analyze did look fine to me. Of course: Volume would/could give some more information about some situations. So if you really want, post one chart only with the candles and nothing else on it and a second chart which includes volume. I will let you know when I next time have some will to do it. We even can do it over the PM section. Will open it at the given time. Can you live with that? as for today I no more going to do any more analyzes. :)
