re: Day trading Nifty & Banknifty Futures

Whenever market changes direction during the day, you loose. Today market was unwilling to go below 6175-80 which was -1SD level so short positions should be covered there as market tried 3 times to break that level and failed.

ST
Ravibhai, today was a trending day, a good day for trend traders like you and me. But, if we lose in these days its the mistake of the method we use, it means as ST said that the method is not capturing actionable price ranges to exit or reverse when market puts reverse gear.

You seriously need to think about it, my friendly advice please dont mistake.

Why am saying is if we don't take good profits these days we can never face the minor whipsaws on ranging days.

Please tell me how you missed the reverse move, I may be able to help you on this, as I also faced this issue some 6 months ago and now able to trade both ways in the day without any bias.

Just take it as a fellow brother's advice,

check the charts once more, easily showing reversal move, how?

If you trade on 5 min chart you need to trade only in the direction of 30 min chart correct?

see 30 min chart PH break confirming change from DT to UT by break of 11:45 PH. I don't see multiple time frames because its difficult, so if you are trading 5 min charts put an sma line in your chart, I use MA21 line its best for 5 min chart according to me, if you trade one min chart use MA60.

Any PH break above MA line and you need to be long and Any PL break below MA line you need to be short. You may already know this, I am just reminding you to implement it, otherwise its going to be frustrating.

NT bhai,

I use a modified version with my toppings, yes but the base ice cream is made up of Saint's pivots and ST's concepts.

There are many ways to exits bhai, you know according to me its the toughest part. I am not well versed yet, but I have done one small research on that and I will let you know my ideas,

Suppose you enter in even lots lets say 2 lots ok?

The following basic exit methods can be used, this is just for beginners, if you consider this quite idiotic you need to go technical,

1)I trade only in BNF so if I had gone long in two lots of BNF at 10000, what I would do is, trail one lot on every PL - f one every new high formed and another lot will be trailed on points basis. BNF is quite good sometimes its like rocket so suppose if your trade goes 50 points above your entry that is 100050, I trail one lot SL to 100025 and for every 25 points increase I keep trailing my SL by 25. But this is not a good methodology but for learners it is ok to follow this as I followed the same sometimes back.

2)TF trailing, this is called, I learned from my cousin who is a forex trader. It is quite simple. Since, you are a swift player you are trading in 5 min charts correct? so as per this method you can trail SL as per PL formed in 1 min and 3 min chart as 5 min pivots form less no :eek:f occurrences compared to smaller TFs. Suppose, you think that initially whenever you enter your trade goes into profit even a good profit but because of following pivot system it might become a looser trade sometimes, so this idea can also be used.

I rarely use this because, sometimes in pull backs or retractments your stops will be taken out, if you are good at entering again with ABC complex pull back you can enter again with very low risk. If you don't have any re entry rules, you know better to avoid this.

3)If you use SMA line, you can exit when price touches SMA line, as you know SMA line is always away from price if the trend is moving like a train, again remember re entry rule is needed here otherwise your out of the trade and price moves in your initial entry direction and you will be irritated.

4)Most simple method, it works good in 5 min chart, suppose if you are long and trade moves in your favour, keep two sl's for x/2 lots one at last green bar low -f and the next at previous last green bar low - f.

5)candlesticks based exits, you can exit on a grave stone doji formation in higher time frames, or hanging man or shooting star or whatever names it has, for this you need to be an expert, I am not comfortable using this should bother ST and learn from him about what exit methods he follows.

ST help please, we learners waiting :D. Whenever you get time.

Dear Tlahuicole,In my second trade (Long trade)......I sold 1/2 below 2:15 bar low because that bar had three qualities or reason:-

(1) EOM bar ( look at volume in this 2:15 bar)
(2) Pin bar
(3) Nice Shooting star
