Day Trading Stocks & Futures

re: Day trading Nifty & Banknifty Futures

Hi, Smart Trade.,

Still now i am trade with cash only...

I never trade with Futures & Options...

So, I first start with Futures...

What are the parameters to know?
Start with Nifty futures, they are less volatile than stock futures.

You must have a good charting software ( Amibroker or Metastock ) with intraday real time data. Decide on a good competent trading system . Be very disciplined about entry, exits, stoploss....and trade cautiously as futures and options can give big profits as well as big losses.

Best wishes for your futures trading.

The difference is between the premiums of June and July contracts.

July contract is trading at a significant discount to spot price

Thanks for clarification.

So , if a person is short and wanted to carry from June to July contract yesterday , he would not be profiting by this down move seen in the chart, right ?

Pls call me Nirav ... the "j" is just the initial of my last name :p :D

Last 15 days of June contract Daroo was either at parity or little discount, whereas same time for July contract, it had huge discount ....

so yea, maybe an arbitraging opportunity here and there, but no real Large profit in rolling over a short ...

I am a charts trader, I am blind without charts...but if you can position trade without intraday charts....then good.

So you mean , for profiting from arbitrage opportunity , we had to take position in July contract from say last 15 days ?

Please see attached Futures data and the highlighted area.

depends on the difference in both contract premiums ...

I have never executed such trades, just roughly have an idea, that premium differences can be exploited ....

found this on google, Link

explains the concept pretty well .... :thumb:
