I take 1 % risk in daytrades in trends, 0.5 % in sideways markets. 2 % on swing trades.Very rarely I will allow my stops to get hit, as I get out of the loosing positions much before stoploss levels when it becomes clear to me that the trade is not working out as expected...I dont hang around in a trade with a loss from my entry point till it hits a stop..1% is only initial stop.
Overall maximum loss limits 3 % for a day, 6 % for a week and 10 % for a month for daytrades.Capital for swing, delivery and daytrades is separate.
I have suggested to few persons that start 2 contracts of NF in 1,50,000 capital and add 1 contract for every Rs 30,000 profits made...that way one can increase the positions without taking excessive risk from the capital ( meaning we are taking extra risk from the profits made ).One trader has started about a year back and with this addition is now trading 24 contracts...this worked well for him. There are a few other MM plans also which work well..
