Ha ha ha, I've formed that opinion about indicators in general for intraday trading a long time ago
Somethings that are static is VA,MP, S/R, Pivots, Price Action, Volume Action (I will one day coin a trading method on this
)
Bcos indicators don't fully support, ppl unknowingly are pushed into predicting mode.
If indicator is up, mind tells u it'll cycle up n then down.
If trader only wants to do that, price itself will show you where its heading.
The spike of a volume candle is what OBV will show you
Another thing about Volume, it can be called Volume skew like Volatility skew.
Natural tendency of volume is highest at opening and closing on average days.
just like a volatility smile
so OBV on daily/weekly TF is far different from a Intraday TTF.
