re: Day trading Nifty & Banknifty Futures

your bought value--17.60*50*50=44000
if your sl hit then ur value---10000
why ur sl is 4
if sl hit then your loss is 34000
i think your sl should be 10 or 0.

As per level s/l 5.93, i will keep it 4. Keeping s/l without any logic, i feel it will hit...so, always i will follow levels.....

All trade we can't expect to win.............

Let us see tomorrow.........Market is boss......

bhai thodi der ke liye mein idhar udhar hua aur tum logoo nein underwear bechnee per laga diyee mere...

Had to go out for urgent work.. and this **** happened... deep in loss... have brought some more CE's for intraday to reduce holding cost..

Now back and lets see where this ride takes me..
Seems to be not easy to do real option trades beside doing an other job, isn't it? Or is this more on the paper trading side and doing urgent work to earn money?

Bull's eye :thumb:

Also, not easy to do option trading using a small capital.

Tell you what, Dan, why not try doing option trading using small capital, say Rs. 5000 ? Maybe paper trades only, but just for the sake of exercise and enlightening the members. We could have a separate thread about it.

@TP

It was just a little revenge as he pushed my legs in the past in an other thread and so I took my chance to push his legs at this time. But never mind. We all are one big family and pushing legs happens in every family, also in the best families. I at least have never seen or meet a family which not had from time to time a bit of pushing legs. :D

Now coming to the serious part of what I posted: Doing a job and trying to do intra day trades at the same time is only for very experienced traders and pros. It is absolute nothing for would like to bees and non experienced traders. Trading in that way needs a clear trading plan and strategy and what Trader15 posted did show that there is non of such existing. I do excuse my self to him in case there is one such proved trading plan around. If not, then hopefully what is posted are only paper trades and nothing bad with that.

About a new thread: There is one I post since at least three weeks ideas and trades I do in the Mini S&P 500 in the members section of the forum. I do not trade with big money, but I do trade proved trading plans when it comes to option trading and hedging. So I guess there is no need to open an other thread about that. I shorted Mini S&P 500 this morning and I am still short. I some times do intra day trades and this one is a positional trade with a clear defined stop loss on the upper side and a clear exit target on the downside. I also have puts in the same market. So nothing special to learn from that.

Take care / DanPickUp

Edit: Doing scalps with option trading and future trading and having small capital is a loosing strategy. Do never not forget that. (Al Brooks)

Most of us can't really relate to S&P :(

Maybe Al Brooks was right about small capital. But then that stands true for all segments, not only F&O.

Well, it is not about can relate or not can relate. It is about the way it is traded. Candles are candles and charts are charts. Stop losses are stop losses and targets are targets. That is all over the world the same. If it is now Nifty or Bovespa or Dax or the S&P500, the picture show off all the same way.

I have studied Smart Trades chart in every detail. The best to me I printed and when I do intra day trades, those charts are in front of me. If I get lost with it, as I come from the strategical option trading side, those charts help me to come back and see again where to add or to get out. To even have a better understanding of the whole intra day concept, I also studied Al Brooks price action trading. Now I combine them and both are of 100% use, even if one is told with Nifty examples and the other one with S&P 500 examples.

In three minutes the pre market is closed and the big market will open here. Take care / DanPickUp

Edit: If I did not understand your post the right way, then please let me know, so we can have a look at it.

After all the plus minus, today's day end available margin = 1093
i.e. a loss of Rs. 1110 from Tuesday i.e. 22.2 pts i.e. half the capital.

Now what can I do with this Rs. 1093 ?? Can't trade currencies. Equities, NF and BNF options, maybe currency options..

Let's see.

Posting Nifty Futures 5 min charts. I have put 2 day VWAP bands which I use a lot for profit booking, entries, adds etc.

I have marked yesterdays uptrend as well today's downtrend. The uptrend which had started yesterday continued in the morning so there was a buy right in the first bar of the day. I have not marked the long trades as they are simple. The levels marked in red lines are the levels where the trend has changed from up to down.

The first trend change indication came when NF broke 6246....then second confirmation at 6241. The last and final call for the bears to check in and board the flight was at 6215....after that few more places where one could have gone short are shown in red.

The upswing is shown in green...downswing shown in red....

See the beauty of VWAP bands...how VWAP proved to be a resistance in the upward correction in downtrend. Finally the profit taking area is marked in red ellipse in rose band support area.

Note : I am also posting the same chart in my Ideas on Day/Swing trades thread so that it could be useful for people in future.
