Yes.....billion is wrong...10 trillion dollar economy... means we will grow 3 to 4 times in next 10 years...
ST
India became a trillion dollar economy in 2007. It took 7 years to become 2 trillion dollar economy in 2014.
In 2019 india is 2.6 trillion and expected to become 3 trillion in 2021.
So assuming India is doubling every 7 years, the size of Indian economy will be 6 trillion in 2028. This is almost 10% compounded growth.
10 trillion is possible but we need to have superlative growth.
Below is from PWC report with its projections for India, China and the US
Brown line - China
Pink line - India
Orange line - US
As you can see India's GDP (PPP) in 2020 is about 11 trillion. (roughly 10 trillion in 2018-19). This is expected to double to 20 trillion in 2030 i.e about 6 trillions in nominal GDP. So we have a lot of work to do to get to 10 trillion nominal GDP. But our beloved country will outshine everyone else in terms of growth rate in the coming years as projected in the second image.
