ONION grows in Nasik mostly, so prices are controlled from there... which is stronghold (once upon) of Sharad Pawar... It's election time in Maharashtra so politics could be in play..

Traders have to pay to political parties (both sides) for election expense, only way to recover chanda given to political parties is to increase commodity prices... )
