Got some more info on investing in Dubai. What I came to know is that basically they are very liberal about the foreign funds and the documentation is also very simple. Foreigners are welcome in Dubai :)

Documents needed to open a bank account and trading account to trade in NASDAQ DUBAI for foreigners are:

Passport, 2 months bank statement of resident country.

The only problem is one has to go to Dubai to open the account (This is my assumption) as because it is mentioned in mashreq website that "Any original ID (passport copy, driving license or labor card), to be verified by any authorized staff"

And AED 3000 minimum balance to be maintained. Only trading account can also be opened and in that case the funds are to be transferred directly by SWIFT from our banks in India.
