Diary of a Intraday Trader in Cash Segment

In intraday, the only rule is that by the end of the day one should not be open in a trade, i.e. all positions should be closed by the end of the day. As such, a trader can sell first and then buy later or vice versa, whichever way he is comfortable with. If he has bought first then he needs to sell later to close his position by 3:15-30 PM. Similarly, if he has sold first then he needs to buy later to close his position.
If I found some stock falling,I can short sell and then cover it.There are many stocks are on the downtrend. Is there any limitation on short selling as we borrow it from the broker?
I found short selling interesting than regular buy-sell,because whatever I buy,it goes down :p haha

no limit but make sure you square off your position before 3.30 pm while short selling otherwise you have to face auction...........

Make it 3 o'clock, because then the auto-squareoff starts and the price may move unexpectedly without giving you a chance. I have personally found it safer to clear off intraday shorts by 2o'clock.

Inspired by Ravi Bhai :D , today bought options.

Trades on Feb 10, 2012 --> Bought 1 lot Nifty 5100 PE at 10.40. Total cost incurred is Rs. 533.18.

It went up to 18.70 but didn't square it off. Expecting 22-26 in next few days. Lets see.
Sold it at 6.65. Loss = 179/-. Above expectation was wrong. Total Capital = 1146-179 = 967/-.

Somewhere I am doing something wrong. Time to realize, analyse and correct it and regain all the losses made. :D

With options, specially out of money options, don't hold them. If possible clear out intraday itself. Don't aim too high, 8-10% intraday, enough.
