NSG defeat is a big defeat at international level.

What ridiculously noticed at some electronic channels about the defeat was that even this was being claimed as something positive. Media is over zealously trying to define foreign affairs in a very simple language. Things are not as simple as they are being projected by the so called fourth pillar broadcasters.

A part of the world going against is not good. The PM should not have involved himself in the process.

Unnecessary creating hype as a big defeat.
You being an anti-Modi is understandable (because your leader daily Modi Modi kyon japta hai :lol: )
If entry to NSG would have been that easy (without signing NPT) then Congress would have done it much earliar.
India is facing a deadly combination of two of our neighbors China and Pakistan and it will take time to sort out these issues.

It was expected that China would stall us.... So no surprises there. Turkey as expected played the Islamic card to equate India to Pakistan. Switzerland backtracked.... and New Zealand, as usual is a driven green and towards NTP and will not like us to get concessions.... So on a diplomatic level, we failed badly.....

US President Theodore Roosevelt said about foreign policy: "Speak softly, but carry a big stick" We seem to be doing the opposite.... And though it may make the general public excited, on strategic terms it is just a no-no to make tall claims when we cannot back them up, but fall short.....

Remember the story leaked in the media about how our Army attacked ULFA bases inside Myanmar? What were the policy makers thinking? Though a great achievement by our army, we were showing Myanmar, a sovereign country in bad light and causing their leadership political embarrassment.... Next time, if we needed the cooperation of Myanmar, would they be so willing to help us hunt down militants in their territory?

Similarly, we have managed to sour our relationship with Nepal, with whom we share a border, (and good relationship in the past). China and Pakistan, both will be watching and waiting on the sidelines with glee.... We need co-operation of nations around our borders and seas... China wants to encircle and contain us. We must not let that happen.... A lot needs to be done on that score. While we open our markets and use the demographic card, we need to ensure reciprocity so that it does not only mean business but allows us to also extract political advantage....

You got it wrong by saying my leader. I have my representatives who are there at the seat of the law making institution sent by me to perform their duties, this includes state and nation.

If hollowness in promises will be visible every citizen has a right to ask for the accountability of the representative/s. We are not followers who should be myopic, rather than we should act as critics who are always ready to pull the strings which can get loose anytime.

India is getting far bitter to the neighbours after every succeeding event of diplomatic failure. We know that China & Pakistan has always been hard to handle but to make things more complicated with short sighted diplomacy India is surely planting carpet of thorns for coming future.

The role which media is playing reminds of the coterie in ancient times of the Emperors who were blindfolded by this interest group seeking personal gains. Media is at its toes to make people believe what it translates of the events.
Huge money is flowing into media circle for keeping the hype afloat.

News of the dastardly and tragic terror attack on the CRPF being played out. As is being presented, in dramatic style, as to how the terrorist managed to martyr so many of our security forces. How they managed to inflict so much casualties.... Wonder whose perspective they are reporting from? Who gave them this video footage? If they have it, why does the editor not use discretion to not play it?

And the most shameful thing about our country.... While on one hand security personnel are killed protecting its citizen, another set of so the so called 'upper caste' refuse burial ground to the one who laid down their life in service of the nation. Why are these people not put behind bars? Why do we still see our own countrymen thru the lens of caste, religion, language, region etc. etc.... Sad indeed, that some people still have the mindset that is worse than the British.....

I am worried about the time when next general elections will approach ... Many issues are being floated to gain sympathy of particular rigid & orthodox mindset...
