Thanks very much for the reply Karthik. Can i enter OBC for short term and trail the stoploss so that in case there is weakness at 285-290 i can get stopped? Also can you suggest other good bank stocks? Now i hear that Bank sector is due for the uptrend as it has been subdued for quite some time. So called investment gurus !!, money suckers think that bank sector should get its due respect and dignity.......!!!!
Yes, Ramesh OBC can be considered for a range play with tight stoploss. However it is too early to make a entry. The stock made a higher low. But it has to first take out 243 to go to make a higher high. So entry is not warranted till it takes out 243.

Banking sector is generally considered as low valued. So many investment gurus.. :) ... do consider that this sector will do well in the new future. In my opinion some impetus in terms of M&A is require to boost this sector. There has been lot of talk about M&A and creation of large banks to take on the global competition. Unfortunately there has been only talks and talks and no action. I expect this sector to languish till some action takes place on this front.

hi karthik,
can u throw some light on ENIL (Radio mirchi fame)
got it at IPO(160)
regards
Hi ragh_ash

My views on ENIL

Promoted by a strong company Bennet and Coleman

ENIL today has a presence in the four metros and also in Pune, Ahmedabad and Indore In the recent round for bids for second round of licenses for FM radio stations, ENIL bagged seven new stations.

FM radio in India accounts for only 2.93 per cent of the total Advertisement share compared with an average of 8.7 per cent worldwide. So the revenue is expected to grow to 3000 Cr. from the current 300 Cr.

The FM Radio penetration is quite low and there is very good growth potential. And thought the competition is expected to increase ENIL has the first off the block advantage.

ENIL is also into Event Management business. The event Management is also another growing business.

Considering these the stock should do well on a long-term basis.

On a short term there is not enough Data to do any technical analysis. The stock has been be slowly drifting down from 264 to 222. On a post issue diluted equity the stock is quoting at a PE multiples of nearly 44 times. This makes the valuations far over stretched. Also I am not very clear about the funding for the capital expenditure to expand he operation to the newly acquired license areas. I wont be surprised if the stock drifts down to a more realistic value.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Warm regards

Hello Kartik,

What is your take on Berger Paints?
It went up for last few months and for past one month, it is slowly declining or atleast not moving up.
Looks like it is stuck at 72/73 levels.

So, is this also consolidating for a big move or is this some other trend?

Please share your views on this.

Regards,
Narendra

Hi Narendra

Berger Paints has been moving sideways for the last tow months in a narow range. Looks like some consolidation going on. For a up move this should take out 76 convincingly. below 70 would spell trouble. There is hardly any momentum in this stock. There is some bearish bias in the last week. As of now this one is not ready for a big move either up or down. It depnds on how this plays out in the coming weeks. It is quite surprising that a paint stock doing not good when there is a real estate boom is on.

Hi Ashish

Welcome back, my friend. Before Answering your query, Let me Congratulate on your wedding..

Wishing you a very happy Married life filled with everlasting joy.

Bajaj Electricals is into house hold appliance, luminaries. It also has a unit which is into engineering and contracting. It is also into building electrical, communication, wind energy towers. Bajaj Electrical turned around last fiscal ending 2005. The operating profit increased from a mere 5.26 Cr. to 22.9 Cr. EPS jumped from 1.2 to 16.6. Then the stock, which was quoting below 100 quickly, rose to around 350 from last August to December the stock was hovering around 350. The Q3 results were good and the net sales increased about 37 %. The FY06 results will surpass the FY05 results. Last December saw the stock shooting up to 550 levels. So this seems to be already factored in the current price.

Changing Indian lifestyles would provide a good growth for the household appliances. But the competition is quite high in his sector. The emphasis in power sector would provide good opportunities for the tower unit. The emphasis on the infrastructure will provide good opportunities for the engineering and projects division. This should provide the right impetus for the stock to rise further in the longer run. In the short tem the stock has been moving rather side way. Going by the past stock behavior this stock needs a push in form of news to push it further high.

Technically the stock has to takeout 515 to see higher levels. The momentum has been increasing. Above 515 this can be good for a short-term gains.

Warm Regards

Karthik
