From what you report i don't think Getbhavcopy has an issue. There seems to be something wrong with the Metastock DB or some missed setting while importing. ensure that the destination settings are proper in the downloader utility.

Re: Free NSE BSE data downloader (EOD, Indices, Daily & Historical, Bhavcopy download

Hi hemen,

any one has problem with EOD comes to you it applies to me also, few days before i had downloaded CHARTS DATA from the tj for intraday charts, ti was all working fine and for eod data i am using GETBHAV COPY but yesterday i find that data is showing something wrong I don't know but eod data candles are showing DOJI candle i checked on icharts its different than mine only and for reliance i can not see the last data that means of 16-06-2009 (please find attached chart for your reference)

Can you please suggest what is the problem, I had already deleted the CHARTS DATA from my pc and downloaded again yesterdays EOD (from getbhavcopy) but problem persist the same.

One more thing i came to know stock which I was following for intraday data problem is coming only for those stocks ( which shows DOJI pattern on charts)

Thanks & best regards

Simple way to troubleshoot getbhavcopy issues:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- create a new folder
- go to Options tab in getbhavcopy and change the download location to the new folder and click save
- now download the bhavcopy and open it in notepad check to see if the bhavcopy OHLC values are correct tickers (you can check them with the bhavcopy from nse website by downloading manually).
If they are correct then there is not problem with getbhavcopy.
- if the bhavcopy is not generated due to some error check if you are able to download the bhavcopy manually from
http://www.nseindia.com/bhavcopy/BhavHandler?segment=0
If you are not able to download the latest bhavcopy from the above link then it is not a problem with getbhavcopy
If you still have other software/data related issues and need assistance with it post your question in http://www.traderji.com/software in the appropriate section.
Re: Free NSE BSE data downloader (EOD, Indices, Daily & Historical, Bhavcopy download
I have one problem on downloading and pasting data on respective cells in the worksheet in the "Spreadsheet of Windows Vista (32-bit) operating system".
For Example : I am downloading EOD/Historical data of Reliance Industries in the form : OPEN HIGH LOW CLOSE QUANTITY. The data need to be placed in Five different adjacent cells for further processing. But I find that the data gets placed in a single cell as "label", which I have to append in five predetermined cells manually. The task become laborious if one needs to download 15 days or more...data of Reliance (example) in the spreadsheet. Can this problem be overcomed ? Again, whenever I am downloading data on any equity share from BSEINDIA, all the data after downloaded on the worksheet, need to be appended manually. Is there any solution to the above problem ??:annoyed:
Hi lazzy trader,
Thanks for your reply, without making new folder i checked in from the folder which already have EOD data and compared with icharts it was same but on my AB charts something different was showing as i posted in my previous post, then i went to SYMBOL - QUOTE EDITOR from there i was able know as there was same date's data was available in different time frames i deleted the unwanted data and kept the original EOD, this has solved the problem, as I said I had problem only those data which i used for intraday for CHARTSDATA, i deleted CHARTSDATA so i do not have the list which data could be wrong but i think 90% of my problem has been solved.
Now problem is how to identify the this stock which may show wrong charts on AB even EOD data is correct.
Thanks and best regards
Dear CNB,
Rename the data file downloaded using Getbhavcopy from *.txt to *.csv.
Now open the file in Excel.
Thats it...
Re: Free NSE BSE data downloader (EOD, Indices, Daily & Historical, Bhavcopy download
Hi,
Hemen Kapadia (totalbankrupt),
Thanks a lot for this information on my query dated 17\06\09. I have downloaded your Getbhavcopy downloader 2.04. It is really a thankless service you are giving to us. Ton of thanks for data downloader.
I am getting an error downloading BSE historical data, "Could not find file E:\ Getbhavcopy software\temp\BSEbhav.gbc". what could be the probable reason? what shall I do? Absolutly no problem with NSE.
I am feeding manually EOD from NSE site every-day, file>import wizard>pick file>browse>open>ticker>skip> ohlc>skip etc. What is the short-cut to load historical data in one shot to Amibroker. PL. help me
Thanks once again.
CNB
