Step 1. Before you open "Backfill tool" (or before you select either radio button - Nest Plus or VWAP): right click on MarketWatch and do "Refresh Marketwatch".
Page down Marketwatch (if you have more scrips) and repeat "Refresh Marketwatch" for each page down.

Step 2. Open Backfill tool. When Backfill tool displays scrip list scroll down and make sure there are no blanks where scrip names must be there.
Just do a quick visual glance to see if there are any duplicate scrip names in Backfill tool.

If there are any blanks or duplicates close Backfill tool repeat Step1, 2. Sometimes may need to do this 2 or 3 times for the list to be proper.

If there are no blanks or duplicates go ahead and backfill.

For data already corrupted:
First make backup of database.
Use DeleteRT_Tics.exe to delete corrupted data. Be careful with the dates/times.

Use free and open source ShareX to upload pics with just a few mouse clicks. Quite easy to use, no complicated steps at all.
ShareX is easier than using steps in timepass signature.

Guys faced a new problem....B

Backfill causes data of one top most symbol to be filled into all symbols....

If entire data is corrupted, open second instance of Amibroker.
that will have original data. Thereafter close First.
then save database.

Coursera has many very good (video) courses available. ( Coursera etc is just beautiful )

Yup.. Coursera, Udacity, edX... all are excellent MOOC resources... Have taken a few programming courses myself from all the three of them..

BTW, this reminds me of the 1st version of the Introduction to Linux course (by the Linux Foundation) that is available till the mid of December on edX... I need to finish that before it expires... (2nd version of the course would be available soon)..

Congrats, You are doing a good work for trading community.
I have downloaded your latest RTNow files (RTNOW 4-7-2014) and I have some clarifications.
I am trying to get RT data from Tradetiger, while doing settings; i am confused with the following points.As I am new here pls help me.

1.SNAP FILE
As per point 8 & 24 in help file:
8.Next time open/load the saved Snap.xls file. Do not open new sheet.
24 Once you start getting data feed in AMIBroker, save the Snap.xls in TradeTiger folder. Next time, open/load the same Snap.xls file. Otherwise you will not get realtime feed.

First time i created a snap file from Tradetiger by selecting Snap to excel>New snap (named Raju) and saved in F:\Sharekhan\Tradetiger\Raju.xls
Second time (say next day) I have to load the same fie from Trade tiger by selecting selecting Snap to excel>Load snap and open F:\Sharekhan\Tradetiger\Raju.xls

Now as per your point 18
18. When all done, 1st open the Snap.xls (every time open new snap to excel file or otherwise it will not work
Are you mentioning here about first time file creation or every time (say every day) a new snap file to be created.


2.DATABASE FILE PATH IN RTTiger.xls:
As per your points 12 & 20
12. A blank workbook opens with name book1. Ignore it and Open RTTiger.xlsm from within Excel. Change the database path to Your\AMIBROKER Database\folder\Path
20. Change the database path in Cell B1 to Your\AMIBROKER Database\folder\Path

I created a database file in RTTiger.xls at B1 as F:\Softwares\Amibroker\AmiBroker installed software\Rtdata

As per your points 15
15. In the excel sheet RTTiger, in the database path of Amibroker , use the following Amibroker Databae Path = C:\Program Files (X86)\Amibroker\RTDATA. If ur program files does not contains the (x86) part u can safely omit that part, in that case it will be Amibroker Databae Path = C:\Program Files \Amibroker\RTDATA. Here "RTDATA" is for example, you can use any other meaningful name
Is it different Database?
Where to incorporate this path in RTTiger.xls file?
Do you mean that I have to use only one database file which should be in C:\Program Files (X86)\Amibroker\RTData

3.COPYING THE ROW
As per your point16.
16.Copy the entire row in four rows below. Check the format of the columns once. Column B should have Time format and columns C, D, E should have number format.
I don’t understand where and what to copy and where to paste
As default you have given 14 scrips in 14 rows in RTTiger.xls file

i formatted my pc ,reinstall all but this time real time data is changing in excel but not getting in chart
ACCORDING TO Troubleshooting made changes
1. date formate changed both type from control pannel Once, not worked/ second time changed from RTG3 ,not worked

2.macro are checked well enabled

is anything m missing?


can any one help me .

Is database path in excel exactly same as in Ami?

Ffollow steps as they are given in chronological order. Do not take two distant steps together.
First you have to get live charts. Did you?
What is your OS?
