m a non-techie and dont know how to code or program. but can this utility be designed without using excel sheet?

the reason why i asked you this is, i have come across many comments (here and elsewhere with similar utilities) where they have mentioned the problem of missing ticks even if they have high speed internet connection! few tick here and there in intraday trading is BIG enuf to affect your p&l a/c. also, i came to know that since excel is involved, this is bound to happen!

infact, i myself have experienced the same. one can compare the 1sec charts based on this utility in amibroker with tradetiger charts on RT basis. there is a BIG difference. infact, when you backfill the same after mkt, the chart changes dramatically!

i hope you got my point! any help in this is highly appreciated!

on monday, probably i wud post the charts. i will give you the screenshot of TT and RT 1-sec amibroker chart. also, @eod after backfill! you can urself see the difference in all charts wrt volumes. i hope u agree that the word BIG makes sense when its related to volume.

btw i use last traded qty as told by you and not volumes! so the problem is not there wrt wrng use of column in mktwatch!

Firstly, it is absolutely wrong to compare charts made by Nest/TT/Odin with AMI charts. The basis for creating charts is different. You will have to read Amibroker User's Guide to understand that. There may be number of trades during 1 second. We do not know which trades are considered by the charting software in which candle. Do not assume that charts of Nest/TT/Odin are sacrosanct. Odin does not give time stamp of trades. We are using our system time. If you compare charts of these three also you will find differences. Hence volumes per candle will always be different. We are therefore using cumulative volume. Start RT Utility at 9:15. At the end of day, Press Ctrl+D in chart. You will get daily chart. See the volume for the day. That will match with Total volume in your trading software.

If not Excel, it will have to be done in Java script, AHK, VBScript or some other programming Language but there will always be some program that will have to capture data from Nest/TT/Odin and push it to AMI. So what is the problem if Excel is middleman? One can design a Plugin for AMI in C++ to do that but I am not a C++ programmer. Again Plugin will be the middleman.

josh bhai - i luv u...u not only help others by providing this utility, but solve their basic queries too! whatever u hv done is commendable to say the least!

i dont deal wid NEST/odin but till now i felt that TT charts were sacrosanct. i take ur word. not an issue. also thks for giving the alternate way for this utility! though i am non-techie, i wanted to knw if there exist any other way to do this.

coming bak to the prob of missing ticks. my concern is volumes and not price as a point here or there is not BIG, but a missing volumes is!

i wud show you the charts tom eod to put across what i meant as even after doing ctrl+D (which i do everyday to confirm the volume number wid TT & NSE), the result doesn't match!

Right now, it imports data but updates the current candle only after a minute.

It updates every second but builds candles of not less than 60 seconds.
