I am trying to get Nesttrader data into amibroker using josh1 utility.
Can YOU help me find what is wrong here in the process.
I have kept the excel file in c-program files-omesys folder and created a shortcut on desktop for excel file.
MY AMIBROKER IS LOCATED IN C PROGRAM FILES.
I created new database in amibroker and also pasted two format files in Amibroker format folder.
when I select items in Nesttrader and tried to Link to excel and then paste in RTD,
NOTHING HAPPENS. RTD rows show N/A in all cells.
In NEST file also All n/a sHow up.
I checked up the date format is ok.
Nothing shows up in excel.
please point out if something missing.

You addressed to Josh, hope you don't mind this reply.

Do not double click on excel file name (or it's shortcut) to start RTnest.xlsm. Use win-key to start excel, then use File->Open to start RTnest.xlsm

10. Open separate instance of MSExcel by clicking on Start - Programs in Windows and then open xlsm from File -- open Menu in Excel. Do not open by double-click on the file.

If you want to work in another Excel book while getting Real time Data Feed; Open Excel by clicking Start-Programs-Microsoft Office-Excel2007. Then Click on Office Icon and open another spreadsheet from that instance.

Either License or Admin rights issue. Both have been discussed on pages 95-96 by LV Gandhi, Einstein and also in Setup Instructions.

Which field for volume are you linking from NSENOW? Volume Traded Today or something else?

It is volume traded today Josh. Here are the screen shot for both NEST and RTNOW. According to me all connections are right because the price is getting updated in RTNOW excel as well as amibroker. Problem but problem is that the volume is getting updated in RTNOW but not in Amirbroker.

what are things to be done on the NEST PAGE?
Of course you give database path.
they said in the instructions-
Nest page A7 cell contains hidden formula as " =IF(RIGHT(RTD!A7,3)="-EQ",RTD!F7,RTD!A7) "-may be this hidden formula links by itself nest cell to RTD cell.
LINK CELLS IN NEST EXCEL PAGE TO CELLS IN RTD PAGE-
THIS PART IS OBSCURE-NOT CLEAR.

(I think this linking has to do with click on cell (if formula there i may get corrupted) and place = and then go and click on corresponding cell in RTD page.

For Josh tool, Nest Plus needed only for backfill data.
In Nest sheet, db path and ram drive path (only if you are using RAM drive) needs to filled in. See pic in http://www.traderji.com/intraday/82...yahoo-amibroker-fcharts-ms-98.html#post918358
You are right, formula links by itself nest cell to RTD cell.

You need not do anything for Nest sheet to show scrips after paste in RTD sheet. Nest sheet must be automatically filled with selected scrips and updating automatically.

How many scrips in NEST market watch do you have?
How many scrips are you linking in RTD sheet?

tHEN HOW TO LINK NEST PAGE TO RTD PAGE?

Already linked. Nothing for you to do unless scrip's linked number is more than 40. Even if more than 40 just simply copy any ONE (only ONE) stock (not index) line in Nest sheet and paste as many times as necessary to increase number to as much as you want. First let us get this working for 40 or less scrips.

Not clear where you are and what is the problem.
-is RTD sheet showing scrips updating values automatically based on Nesttrader values? If this doesn't work, nothing else will.
-is Nest sheet automatically filled with selected scrips and updating automatically?
Posting images of Nesttrader, RTD sheet, Nest sheet will clarify many things.

All I understand now is
the broker is not enabled RTD thing. and no clear way of identifying if rtd is enabled or not.people say date admin issues etc. But rtd in disabled state is the thing that causes problems.
Let me begin new year by kicking the broker!!!!!

It will not update after 15:29 since there is no change in volume(No trading). Have you tried from 9:15 onwards? Start RTNest at 9:15 and let me know. It seems you are using older version. Use the latest.
