I think that India too used to have inheritance tax. Don't remember exactly.

Anyway, the taxes are much more rationalized now. There was a time that if your income was above 2 lakhs per year, your taxes came to 93% !!!!

Sam Pitroda's main contribution to India has been the computerization. Respect for that. Also, good participation in Rajiv Gandhi's New Education Policy in 1986 etc.

As for taxes, one would like to see better parity between corporate and individual tax structures. That, I think, will promote self-employment and entrepreneurship.
