This is true for 2nd and 3rd quarter too ! Nifty has been trading inside the 1st quarter since then

Trading without SL is not recommended for retail intra-day, but for big money intra (who can try to minimize the loss if trading with futures/spot using derivatives which requires high margins) and retail swings (usually with LEAPS or whichever longest life option is available). Underlying assumption for both the cases is that you are "smart" money and never take a bet too big for your asset base.
