Yes that is why on days like yesterday we should keep some short positions open as swing trade positions....they could be very profitable if the trend accelerates.I always keep part of day trade positions on swing trade mode if the positions are showing good profits at the market close.This is particularly true if the new trend is in starting phase.

We are traders, we should not put a stamp of "daytrader only" on us. Each one to his own ofcourse...there are plus and minus points of keeping some positions for overnight.

Yes dada !!! your words are 100 % true..we should not stamp our self...

just testing positional way of trading with 2 lots..from past 3 months.. results are encouraging ..so willing to do from Sep.series with full capacity..both intra and positional... problem with me is i often miss trades in positional...while doing trading in intra

Sir ji, to mix intra with Swing, is it necessary to be 2 different system ? Or even the trade initiated on intraday from smaller timeframe will be carried for over night position ?

And the above sideways range lasted for 3 days, and on yesterday that is on 4th day we got a break down.. Do we have to keep small position open in the direction of trend for everyday, or over night position should be attempted only after a break ??

Not mixing intra and swing. Both modes are separate.We are just converting part of intra positions into swing at EOD when these positions are in much profits. One caution :: NEVER convert a loosing intraday trade into a swing trade, get out of the loosing trade immediately.

Most traders trade identical methods/systems for intra and swing with few changes but not totally different methods though timeframe, price levels etc will be different for intraday and swing.So this intra position slipping into swing becomes effortless.

Dear ST,

Trying to understand holding shorts overnight from yesterday. Assuming intraday 5 min short was taken at red arrow yesterday, EOD price is at multiple days congestion low on the 30 min chart. Would it not be time to exit? Or would the thought process be, risk is only yesterday's profit (most likely) if price gapped up, so hold overnight?
