Yes Sirji

Totally agree with you !!!
All of the puts I traded doubled today itself.
8300,8200,7900 All puts I traded doubled itself today.

Was watching the charts still, kept booking profits at regular intervals.
Guess booking profits is much better than booking losses.:D
Absolutely Amit. Infact, I meant to write in my earlier post thatI I'm happy you at least booked some profits instead of losses. Point I'm trying to make is that sometimes the day trader mentality in us get better of us and we tend not to see the bigger picture evolving. Cut losses quickly and we also end up cutting profits quickly. It happens when we are too close to something to observe.

Anyways, we are traders and we will find many good chances to make money. Good luck buddy!

ST bro

did you day trade today? if yes how to trade these kind of big gap days , please share something :)
Yes but as I was busy in investment buying and mutual funds, I traded options instead of futures . I bought 8400 puts at 418 today but smaller quantity and held on till the end. Anyone could have traded these puts....good liquidity in those. On such gap days one has to guard against V shape reversal ( but in todays sentiment, V shape reversal looked very difficult ) and also that the volatility is increased so higher stops which means lower quantity.

Hi St DA
I have invested in bank FD everyyear for tax deduction under 80c..now I am thinking to invest same 1.5 lacs in ELSS scheme.
which are good among those you mentioned?
thanks
if I include my monther tax saving also..that amount will come at 3 lacs rs..so 25 k every month I have to save..so should I put in only 1 mutual fund or should i divide this amount in 2-5 mutual funds?
thanks

For your mother's tax saving you have to invest from her account in her name.

You can devide in 2 funds Axis Long Term Fund and Reliance Tax saver...these are best performing ELSS funds.

Anup,

Not an investor, but would suggest rethink about 'Investing' in JP Group. It has tons of debts and is a very risky bet - even without taking into account the current market scenario. Google for more info on the group before you put even 1 rupee on the script.

And if your criteria is to 'invest' in the stock because it is cheap - it is for a very good reason - as everyone else is bailing out. Investing should be done in scripts that are appreciating or have value, and not because they are on the way to bankruptcy.

Good luck.

Dear Anup, Last year around this time JP assoiciates was trading at 50 rupees. Today it is at 9 Rs. please do not be in the notion that since it has fallen so much it cannot fall any further. JP associates has been a total wealth destroyer for investors. Please do not invest in such companies. There are many other blue chip stocks out there and during this market correction you will find them at 10-20% discount. Please look at some stocks like Infosys, Tcs, L&T, indusind bank etc to name a few. Even with 8000 Rs you can buy 5 shares of L&T and sit tight.

EDIT: My post co incided with DSM's post:)

Very good advice DSM and Riskyman

You know I still can't fathom why do we traders or investors think in terms of CMP. CMP is current market price, not the fair price. And CMP has no equation with value, particularly when the market is getting derailed or running superfast. And JP etc are thief companies, ready to go into penny stock bin.
