Rightly said !!! why news paper reports like this when ever there is a fall, i never understood ..

Actually for traders downtrend is much profitable as they make much more money and that too very fast than in uptrend.

For investors also if one really wants to invest then he must invest in a dip and he should be happy that he is going near to the final bottom when the price becomes attractive on his buy parameters.

People who have leveraged buy positions held on small margins and people who have bought large quantities on tips, rumers are the ones who suffer the most in such drastic fall . General investors is from this catagory and hence they get worried in market fall.

actually everybody likes investors , buy and hold types , govt also incourages long term investors , as no tax in profits over 1 year holdings.

so when a market falls , its investors who faces losses or reduction in their equity value so people feel bad about it. even govt also worries about market fall and regulators ban short selling sometimes. see china govt actions etc. so everybody likes market to go up. it attracts retail participants also.

speculators, traders , who cares about them , they are labelled gamblers
