My question concerns stock short selling.Is this allowed by intraday stock trading or its allowed only by stock futures in India

Intraday stock trading (including short sell) is allowed, but only on intraday basis.

allowed on BOTH.
For intraday compulsory square off 15 min before closing.
For overnight carry forward we use stock futures. Expiry of future contract - last thurs day every month.
