"I strongly believe money can be made in trading if we leave our bias and ego on the doorstep". Quote by madan.

so true :thumb:
TR bhai

Well,Bias generates from predictions/news/TV analysts and ego develops when some predictions reached targets........

My case of last week went into a loss of -50 pt/s including all...followed my own rules without any violations...and accepted the result..and will repeat the same thing from Monday..rules/setup.. thats it...i'm confident that baba nifty reward me,because he is giving me from many years only due to this, follow through...;)

reading through "new comments" on madan's page (at the bottom of page) , people have lost 20 lakh/15 lakh/12 lakh their lifetime savings, all profit from investment in shares , loans, money they cannot afford to lose etc etc in trading and are desperate now , very sad.
trade with that money , which if lost , should not make you feel miserable .

and one person who lost all and is now jobless, wants madan to trade his account(with whatever small amount left there) and give him monthly profit.

Why would Madan waste his time trading a small account which is already depleted when he has a large account of his own....but people have all kind of expectations. Must ask Madan if he can trade on one of my small accounts too and send me the paycheque every month while I relax on some sea beach in Goa....:D:rofl:

Saw Nilesh Shah's (Kotak AMC MD) presentation yesterday ...few interesting points :

1) If instead of buying a Maruti car 7 years ago someone had invested in Maruti shares, with the amount appreciated in value he can buy a Merc or BMW today.

2) If instead of buying a motorbike 10 years ago someone had invested in Motorcycle company Eitcher Motors shares, he can buy a Rolls Royce now.

3) HDFC bank share gives 35-40 % top to bottom move in every year for last so many years and still is one of the steady wealth creators.

Interesting....

my query to all seniors regarding backtesting:

/How can one backtest. ideally what things one should record while backtesting?

i knothing some coders use EA (FOR MT4), something must be there for amibroker users also. but coding is not everyones cup of tea. also how an automated system works will differ from real time experience.

right now i am using market replay feature of mt4, and observing candle by candle. it is very tiresome job. but what should we document/record from these type of tests which will help us in realtime market.

pl comment & help

ST Da,
Classic example of How investment is better than consumption!

How Many People are riding ROYAL ENFIELD BIKE ? or wish to ride it ?
Look at the company's growth

Eicher Motors (Makers of Royal Enfield).

Share Price on September 2001 = Rs. 17.50
Price of Royal Enfield bike in 2001 was Rs.55000/-

If any one would have bought the shares of Eicher Motors instead of a bike than he would have got 3143 shares ((Rs. 55000/ Rs 17.50 (share Price) = 3143 Shares))
Eicher Motor's Share Price as on 4th Aug 2015 is Rs. 20,610, Total Value as 3143 x 20,610= 6.477 crore
55000/- is worth 6.33Crore in 13 Years.
Now he could have bought a Rolls Royce.

It looks very glamourous in the hindsight but in real life I doubt if there are many examples where people held on to such stocks knowingly.
1. No one knows which are the next HDFC Royal Enfield of the world.
2. Even if one finds and invests in such a company he would need nerves of steel to keep holding those shares to give such mind boggling returns
3./imagine your investment in Infosys grew 3/4 times how likely you are to continue in it.
4. Imagine holding infy during tech crash
5. Or during 2003/7 bubble where it was underperforming.
6. For each Infosys there are ten penta soft unitech dlf which have eroded wealth.
7. Can we work and discuss to spot few such stocks.
