@ ST Sir,

for positional swing trades what time frame we should use? daily / hourly?
I use hourly, and some times trades turns into big loss ( in case of Gap up down)..other times profits are also big.

actually I am not sure If I am trading swings.

May sound a childish question, but plz. ( a request to all- don't make it laughing stock).

ST Da,I hv a small query on MM,pls do reply in ur free time.

I use 1 lac to trade 1 lot Nifty.
Now I wish to trade Relinfra like Stock Fut whose lot size is 1300.Margin required is 50k with Zerodha.
My query is-
Can we use 1 lac capital to trade Relinfra? Is it risky as the margin required is 50-55k these days.My R:R in backtest showing 1:3.

thx
Da,u already answered abv query. One more query plz-

Can we trade 1 lot Nifty in 75k,thus 2 lots in 1.5L?
And adding each lot on 20k profit?

No question is a laughing matter.Every trader at some stage has faced similar questions himself.

I am using 4 hours timeframe in NF swing. Hourly also is fine. But when you take a trade and the market does not move quickly in your favour, get out of that trade at EOD ...it is indicating that the market does not want to go in your direction. You may enter again next day...it will save lots of losses due to gap opening against us...I always exit if the trade starts moving against me and one should never wait for a big loss to mount up..most of the risk is at the take off stage of our trade..once it takes off then it is a loss in profit.

Our profits should be big...but losses should always be small whether in day trades or swing trades, principle is same...loose less and make more.

These days average stoploss is 20 points...so 1 Lot in NF means risking 75*20 =Rs 1500=00 which is 2 % of 75,000....a bit on higher side.

Now the contracts are of 75 so add 1 contract for each 40 K addition in profit.

Lower degree trend as far as I remember was not in the original method. It is my tweak because many times based on upgraded VPs like f,h etc I would assume that visual uptrend has started but then before ERL at a the market will crack the VPL and resume the original visual downtrend. So till we pivot above vis ERL a we are still in larger vis DT..this tweak has helped me a great deal.Any time before ERL a the larger downtrend can resurface. But this case is different from the long we go on even minor pivot on a sustained downmove followed by steep fall and/or gap down opening.

Da,
Would you trade the lower degree trend? Any specific circumstances when you will not?

Yes but on 1/2 the quantity and with more caution because lower degree uptrends can either reverse or go to build itself into higher degree uptrends.

Da, thanks a lot. Would you handle initial SL or SL movement differently in this case?
