Open Trade is same concept as 'copy trade', followed by almost all major forex brokers. Its highly successful in forex trading.

Zerodha may not be able to squueze out more brokerage from existing traders, but once it becomes successful, it can became a wave, and attract new traders, non-traders, and has the capability to pull out many traders from other brokers..

Zerodha will get the first mover advantage.

Many forex brokers have abused this by creating fake 'leaders', so they get more and more clients and brokerages. I hope zerodha does not abuses this wonderful social tool.

Zerodha has 100000 clients.Assuming 20% subscribe to just just 1 star(people may subscribe to 4-5 stars in different segments) it makes a collection of 20,000*500=10000000 or Rs 1 cr per month. If 20% is taken by zerodha it is 20 lacs per month or 2.4 cr per year.......

I have seen this more than a few times. It's a tricky situation. On the one hand the "Stars" want some extra cash. On the other, if you really are a profitable trader you don't want to share your "competitive advantage" with others.

I wouldn't like to reveal it in open forum but there are a number of ways to resolve the situation - meaning - not reveal the trading edge and still earn the subscription fee :D
